Cassy took Golden Sunrise for a hack on
October 25th through the nice fall fields...she
went into labor the next day and then welcomed
her first non horse baby October 28, 2009 and
couldn't be happier!! Abby "helps" with the barn
chores everyday with no complaint...she is
making the transition very easy for Cassy!!
We thank
everyone for a wonderful 2009 season, and look
forward to 2010! We hope everyone has a
wonderful Holiday Season and a prosperous New
Year!!
September 23, 2009 - Golden Affirmation
was presented at the CWHBA Mare Performance Test
held September 13th at the Travis Hall
Equestrian Centre. She won Premium and received
8's for her jumping and ridability. I will post
all her scores once I get them! She had had just
2 weeks of work prior to the test and performed
beautifully!! (I was unable to ride the month
before). Luckily for me Yulia Gafni was able to
get her going again and was able to present her for me! We were VERY
grateful for that!!
We were very
disappointed that the CWHBA show was canceled
due to lack of entries. It is always a highlight
of our year and we look forward to going!! We
are hoping that next year will be bigger and
better then ever!!
August 18, 2009 - EEF Samson
has been sold to Alexis of
Ballston Spa, NY. She plans on doing
dressage with him. We are very excited to see
what the future holds for this new partnership!!
We wish you all the best with EEF Samson
we hope you enjoy him as much as we did!!
Golden Sunrise
and Golden Affirmation
were shown at the LDA show on August 16th. They both won both of their
classes. (Training #1 & #2 and Walk/Trot
A & B respectively) We could not have been
happier with them!! They performed so nicely,
even with the intense heat!! That brings a very
good ending to our very successful show season
(under saddle)!!
We are going to
be taking Golden Sunrise
and Golden Affirmation to the CWHBA show on September 6th. Both
mares will be shown in their respective line
class. Golden Affirmation will also be shown in the mare
performance test. This will officially be my
last time showing under saddle for the year. My
dr has been very patient with me and is allowing
me this one more class (I will be almost 31
weeks by that time!).
July 25, 2009 - Despite some trailer
troubles in the morning making us 1 1/2 hours
late leaving for the show we made it to the
Fieldstone Open Breeders Show safe and sound. We
got there just in time to get Golden Sunrise
off the trailer and into the ring...literally!!
(We got there 5 minutes before the show was to
start, and she was in the first class!) The same
thing happened with EEF Samson,
(There was 1 class in between the two horses) we
took him off the trailer and into the already
started class; he didn't have any prep before
going into the already full class. He was SO
well behaved!! He was like he had done it his
whole life!! Golden Sunrise
placed 3rd in the "Open
Broodmares Class" and EEF Samson
placed 5th out of 9 in the
"Open Yearling Class". We were SO happy
with the horses and how they handled everything!
We would like to thank Barry (Cassy's dad) and
David for all the help they provided getting
to/from and during the show!! It couldn't have
been done without you two!!
July
13, 2009 - We
are pleased to announce that Golden Sunrise placed second in both her classes
at the LDA show on July 12th. (She had had 2 1/2
weeks off just before the show because of an
injury. She performed wonderfully considering!!)
She was shown Training Level Test #1 & #2. Golden Affirmation placed first and second in her
classes. She was
shown Walk/Trot test A & B.
We brought
EEF Samson
and
Golden Sunrise to the CSHA Open
Show July 5th. Golden Sunrise placed
2nd in the "Open
Broodmare/Yeld Mare" class. EEF Samson
placed 3rd in the "Open
Yearling" class.
We are hoping to
get out to the next LDA show for sure (fingers
crossed about the last one) as well as the CWHBA
show. Time will be the factor on this as I am
currently 22 weeks along (due November 12th). So
until I get too big to ride/show and/or my Dr.
tells me otherwise, things are still going as
planned!
June 15, 2009 - We are VERY pleased to
announce that
Golden Sunrise
placed first in
both her classes. Golden Sunrises' scores were
72.61 and 72.86 respectively. Golden
Affirmation placed first and second in her
classes. It was the
first time she was shown under saddle, and the
first time being ridden with other horses. She
was shown Walk/Trot test A & B. Golden
Affirmations' scores were 58.57 and
63.33 respectively.
May 20, 2009 - Golden Affirmation
won the GLN Cup. They also posted a picture of
her free jumping. There was also a picture of Golden
Sunrise
Under Saddle (Where she won the Riding Test).
We have decided not to continue
trying to breed Sonaya
and Golden
Affirmation again until next year. We ended up
having a great deal of issues with shipping and
customs in regards to getting the semen here in
time to breed the mares. (Despite having every
requirement set out by the CFIA, the shipments
were still late.) We are hoping that by next
year the customs will have things straightened
out by then. Until then we look forward to our
lone Landkonig
foal next March out of Golden Sunrise.
We have also
decided to go to a few of the LDA Dressage shows
this summer. We will be taking Golden Sunrise
for sure. We are still undecided about bringing
Sonaya
and/or Golden
Affirmation to the shows.
Golden Sunrise
and EEF Samson
will be shown that the CSHA Open Show at the
London Hunt Club. As well as the show at
Fieldstone Farm. Of course we will also be going
to the CWHBA show at Hogendoorn's as we cannot
miss that one!! As of now we are not sure who we
are going to be taking to that one.
April 25, 2009 - We updated EEF Sampson's page with more
pictures and current videos of him both in the
field and in hand.
The videos in hand show how straight he travels
and how well he handles. He is really maturing
into an incredible horse with a very bright
future!!
April 18, 2009 - We are VERY excited to
announce that
Golden Sunrise
is confirmed in foal to
Landkonig.
She is due March
10, 2010.
March 05,
2009 - We are
VERY excited to announce that Golden Sunrise will
also be bred to
Landkonig for a 2010 foal!!
Golden Sunrise
will be bred to
Padinus
in 2010 for a 2011 foal instead of breeding her
this time around.
February 19, 2009 - We are VERY excited to
announce that both Sonaya
and Golden
Affirmation are
going to be bred to
Landkonig for a 2010 foal!!
He is the sire of Lantinus who
set a record in 2002 by selling for the highest
price ever achieved by a jumper at the Elite
auctions in the Hanoverian Niedersachsen Halle;
And again, setting a record at Shockemoehles
prestigious PSI Sale. The current owners of Lantinus,
the Straumanns, paid 2.4 million dollars for him
and turned down 5.5 million Euros ($8.7million)
six months later after he won the Global
champions tour GP of Qatar. Lantinus has been #1 in
the FEI world rank in June and July 2008 and
competed in the 2008 Olympics for show jumping.
February 08, 2009 - We updated the
ABOUT US page
with some more information on Cassy as well as
some more pictures. We had a wonderful Christmas
holiday here at EEF and are looking forward to
spring, getting the mares in foal as well as
showing. We will keep you posted on the shows we
are planning on attending this summer.
November 15, 2008 - We are VERY excited to
announce that we have a new mare to add to our
broodmare band!! Her name is Sonaya.
She is a half sister to our foundation mare
Golden Sunrise.
She is expected to
arrive at our farm on the 18th of November.
We plan to show Sonaya next season in dressage
mainly, but if time permits, we are considering
showing her in the jumpers as well.
September 16,
2008 - We made
it to the CWHBA show held at Hogendoorn Farms
safe and sound!! We couldn't have been more
happy with the way our horses behaved and
showed!! The judge was International Judge Hakon
Wahldman from Finland.
Golden
Affirmation (pictured
Left. Photo by Mike Armstrong) won the Free Jumping
Competition, placed 3rd in her "3 year old mares
and geldings class" and was approved at her
inspection! She had a busy day and
performed wonderfully!! We were very happy with
her!
Golden Sunrise won
the Riding Horse Test!! She also placed 2nd in
the Free Jumping Competion (Behind her
2005 filly
Golden Affirmation)
EEF Sampson
did not place in his very strong class of foals
and weanlings. We knew he wouldn't be
competitive (being out of the cute faze and into
the awkward 'teen' faze!) but really wanted him
to go for the atmosphere. He was PERFECT the
entire time! I couldn't believe how calm he was!
We got LOTS of complements about how well
behaved he was!
All in
all, despite the rain, we had a wonderful time,
the horses were great as were the organizers and
volunteers!
August 23, 2008 The
second time we were unable to show was today.
The free jumping competition was cancelled due to
lack of entries! We were REALLY looking forward
to bringing Golden
Affirmation.
Because it was cancelled we decided to wait and
have Golden
Affirmation
presented for approval CWHBA at the same time as
the CWHBA Breed Show held at Hogendoorn Farm.
We will be
bringing
Golden Sunrise,
Golden Affirmation and
EEF Sampson to the show at Hogendoorn
Farm on September 13th.
Golden Sunrise will partake in the
performance test (under saddle and free
jumping).
Golden Affirmation will be shown in hand
and the free jumping.
EEF Sampson will be shown in hand for his
first time out! We are hoping that 3rd time is
the charm! We will make it there safe and sound
and uneventful!
August 6,
2008 - Golden
Affirmation is
going to be competing in the free jumping
competition August 23rd in Orangeville ON. The
same day she is going to be presented at the
CWHBA inspection for stud book approval.
Artist Jennifer Pratt posted a painting she has
done of
EEF Sampson
as a 'model' in her "Canadian
Bred - Original Sporthorse Artwork Series".
Here is a link to the
painting.
Unfortunately there was a death in the family so
we were unable to make
it to the CSHA show. Next year we hope to be
there with the horses.
We have somewhat
settled into the new farm, the fencing is coming
along nicely and we are making plans to renovate
the existing barn. Pictures will come soon I
hope!!
June 29, 2008 - Golden
Affirmation is
going to be shown in hand at the open CSHA show
at the London Hunt Club on July 6th.
We are
moving!! Our farm is just 15 minutes from London
and St. Thomas. Situated between the 401 and the
402!!! We will update once everyone is settled
in to our new place!!
June 02, 2008 - Artist Jennifer
Pratt came out to meet us and our horses. She is
going to use EEF Sampson as a 'model' in her "Canadian
Bred - Original Sporthorse Artwork Series".
We were very grateful that she came out to see
the horses and we
eagerly await her work(s) of art!!
May 23, 2008 - Golden Sunrise
is going to be bred to KWPN-AES jumping stallion Padinus
in 2009 for a 2010 foal. At the same time we are
going to breed
Golden Affirmation
(stallion TBD). This summer we are going to
present Golden
Affirmation at a
CWHBA inspection. We are also hoping to get her
out to a few shows.
May 02, 2008 - Golden
Affirmation has
been added to our broodmare band. We are very
excited to have her in our program on a full
lease.
March 04, 2008 - EEF Sampson
was featured on artist Jennifer Pratt's "Canadian
Bred - Original Sporthorse Artwork Series"
blog. She is going to use him as a model for her
'Canadian Bred Sporthorse' series.
