Zeus was started
under saddle in May of 2006. He had a few months put on him,
and he was shown in two under saddle classes where he placed
2nd and 3rd. Zeus was then off all fall/winter due to time restraints and
weather. He was started up in the spring...right where he
left off. He then started his training over fences and went
on to compete in 2 local events. Zeus is a real sweetheart
who aims to please! He has never bucked, reared or bit to
date.
Zeus is very solid with his walk, trot and canter. I have ridden him alone in the fields as well.
On the cross country field he was perfect and didn't care if
he was alone or not. To date he has jumped everything put in
front of him!
Zeus would make a great eventer and
jumper with some miles, he is very athletic and loves to
please! He is very good in the trailer, and walks on without
batting an eye. Zeus also has been great every new place I
have taken him, he has been very good to handle.
Zeus has had the last year off due to my pregnancy and lack
of time. I did get on him when I was 8 months along...with
him having 8 months off and he was perfect!! Didn't put one
foot wrong!! He has even done pony rides for my friends and
1 year old nephew this summer without any issues either.
When he was started (with just 2 months on him) a 10 year old rode him w/t/c and
bareback and he was great!! Zeus is also the guy on the farm
I put anyone wanting to go for a ride on...he happily takes
people around the yard with no problems (ie. non horsey
brother in law!)...He absolutely loves to be played with and
given a job!!
He would be best suited
for one rider who is experienced and very quiet in the saddle.
He would love to go to a show home! We were offered $15,000
last summer for Zeus when he was at his first event...he is
being offered for $5000 because we don't want to see this
very talented boy wasted!!
